How to animate with shapes (spheres and cubes)?

So I've seen a few 3dmm videos like these:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnWwQIbKBTU

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZE4aQIv509A

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weSrvs3z_XY

and

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsWIEVgeW0U

So I've seen that they're animating characters and props using shapes, but I was wondering how I could do this, does anybody know? Thanks.

Frame by frame.

Click forward a frame, move everything a little, and repeat about 21361278 times.

Thanks for the reply! Woah, I thought I had to do that, but in the animations the body's look like they're joint together, are all the shapes seperated, or is there a way to merge them together and make them stay to create a body? I'm thinking that you have to move every single body part precisely, am I correct?
