Who will Obama/McCain's VP be?

Supposed to be announced tomorrow, so get your votes in quick.

Side note: I'd be okay with Clinton, largely because it'd be the greatest bait-and-switch in political history -- after weeks of press speculation and parsing his use of masculine pronouns and stuff, if he turns out to have completely headfaked the press, it'd be just badass enough that I'd have to give him credit for it.

But I'm betting against it.

BTW, I'm thinking 60% chance on Biden, 30% on Bayh, and 10% on MYSTERY CANDIDATE.

some of us just don't like making long posts!

I picked Biden, but more because I want him to be picked than because I actually think he will. He was my second choice after Kucinich during (the early stages of) the primaries - he's a smart guy who's willing to speak his mind, and I think he complements Obama well. Honestly, though, I'd put my money on Bayh, even though his only real standout quality is being from Indiana as far as I can tell. Kaine's possible too, but I haven't been much impressed by what I've read. I'd prefer Mark Warner from the "Democratic Virginia governors" category, if he weren't running for the Senate. Clinton...ugh, I really, really hope not. Sebellius I just can't take seriously as a possibility; I'd be shocked if it were her.

If he's really smart he'd pick Michael Phelps.

...or Batman.

I've seen this done in like eight political cartoons so far (sometimes with Obama and McCain both trying).

If Biden is the VP, I guarantee you that one of his 1988 Presidential campaign commercials will played over and over again by Republicans:

Quote:
The White House isn't the place to learn how to deal with international crisis, the balance of power, war and peace, and the economic future of the next generation. A president has got to know the territory. Joe Biden sees the presidency as a pulpit from which America sets an example for the world. He believes that developing nations once saw America as more than a place. They saw us as an idea, a goal to reach for. He knows they lost confidence in us, that he they see us losing our way, our resolve, our ideals. Joe Biden thinks it's time to remind the world of what America stands for: freedom, equality, justice, opportunity.

The other night Biden said "It's not me," then ended up going back on that and saying he had no idea if he was still being considered or not. I'm excited to see what happens.

From Drudge:

"KMBC's Micheal Mahoney reports a company in Kansas City, which specializes in political literature, has been printing Obama-Bayh material... MORE... Gill Studios, would not confirm information about the material. They would not deny it either. At least three sources close to the plant's operations reported the Obama-Bayh material was being produced... "
