A quicker way to define a starting pose for actions (And other tips)

When you're using the Resume Last Action tool, and you hold down control, then hold left click over an actor who has an action applied to him, you can scroll through that action slowly, frame by frame, without going back to the actions menu, and without skipping ahead in the movie :-O.

...

Yeah, this really didn't deserve a thread. So uhh, I guess you could post little tips and things about 3dmm that you didn't always know, or stuff you think other people may not know, or something.

Cool, thanks.

I also didn't know that if you wanted an actor to perform a forward action backwards, instead of moving him frame by frame, you just hold control and turn him 180 degrees.

Then there's the sound thing, where you hold control as you attach a second sound to the same object in the same frame as the first sound, and it'll play only when the first is done.

...I should read my 3dmm Instruction Book more often .

Another tip - if you're wanting to sync sound to stuff properly, I find it's a better idea to hit play BEFORE the scene you're syncing to test thing out. In an ideal situation, you can just insert a blank scene before the one you're working on, so you can play from that.

This may not apply to you guys, it may do - but I find that it's a major irritation to sync a scene and it seems perfect when playing that scene on it's own but is completely muddled when played in the movie.

Let's say you've got your actor Greeting, Walking then Dancing. For whatever reason, you want him to sit after he walks, but before he dances. As opposed to cutting out the dancing part, having him sit, then reanimating the dance, you can simply hold CTRL+SHIFT as you apply to sit action, in the frame you want it to start.

Noobies keep in mind that you can not only add frames to the end of the scene, but also the beginning, although it is somewhat useless unless you want to insert a shot without creating a new scene.

Most of this is all basic stuff, but I guess some neglegent 3dmmers like myself may be unaware, and well it helps those who don't use the control and shift buttons already when making their movies.
