Bandwidth Update

Our bandwidth troubles have still continued through the second half of the month, and it is very possible that we could run out as early as July 26th. Emergency measures I have taken to ensure this won't happen include:


Disabling all user avatars. The process of loading all these images off the server is a bandwidth hog. However, I will turn the avatars back on at the start of the new month when our bandwidth is reset.
Upgraded the GZIP compression level to it's highest setting, level 9.
Prevented the server from loading the 7kb background image that is displayed on every page.
Disabled private messaging.


Again, these are just temporary changes, and will only be in affect until August 1st. The bandwidth used during August and September will determine my decision on whether or not to upgrade to a more expensive hosting plan.

I think getting rid of the avatars is going to be a huge relief on the server and give us more than enough to get to the end of the month.

Beleive it or not, the board doesn't let me give you guys that as an option. It's still possible, it's just that it would require me to manually edit the html and php templates. Something that I really don't have time to do at the moment.

We're doing fine without avatars turned on. We only used 100 megs yesterday, and I got about 700 left to burn. We should make it to the end of the month, but it will be close.

the 3dmm.com logo, those little 3dmm icons, the little icons that tell you where you are, and the little button that says 'Go' at the bottom of the screen,. and the 'New Thread - Add Reply' buttons..

I left that "community" on my second post, because one fo the mods was a dickhead and closed my topic saying it was old news. Well, had that BB not've had some fucking moron post an RCT2 wishlist that included things that had NOTHING TO DO with Six Flags, I'd have not posted old news about how RCT2 is all Six Flags. I even said, "Due to the lack of posting (in the RCT2 section) I figure you might not know this..."
